Too much computer savvy young person who probably already has more than a few microchips permanently encoded in their DNA may cause the above question to be pretty stupid. But for many of us, understanding exactly how online or Internet fax works, is still a bit more puzzling, especially for those of us who are used to faxing oldfashioned through old good reliable faxes in the office.
And twice for those of us who do not necessarily keep up to date on the latest developments in technology. For older workers who have always used traditional faxes, online faxing can be seen as down to the right confusion. With the traditional way of faxing, we are used to punching in a few numbers and scanning the fax in the machine to send a fax.
Now, with online faxing, do I have to use computers and the Internet? How is that?
Like the introduction of new technology, there is a learning curve, especially for experienced workers and small businesses that are put in their way. Online faxing has become very popular, but there are still many people and many companies do not take full advantage of this new way to fax
Perhaps the biggest obstacle, a lot of people simply do not understand how online fax works? They may know that it has something to do with computers and the web, but how does it work?
First, you need to understand that online faxing is simply using the email system and your Internet connection to send faxes. You register to an Internet Fax Service Provider who will provide you with your own local or tollfree fax number and you will also be given an online site interface where you can view and send faxes. Acts This online provider as your intermediary to handle all your faxes. You use your fax number to receive and send faxes as email attachments, usually in TIFF or PDF format.
But how does it work?
This question actually put Christian Watts, one of the founders of FAXAGE, an online fax service provider running out of Denver Heres his answer.
In the end, each Internet Fax works by receiving faxes by having some form of special phone numbers that come in to fax servers on their website or websites. When a fax is received on the fax server, it is converted to a suitable format PDF or TIFF with FAXAGE, PDF by default and then sent to the customer. In our case, we send these as email attachments and keep them on our website as well as by default. We offer many customizable parameters around receiving fax services, ability to route Fax Received Email to an unlimited number of email addresses, API methods for receiving faxes to systems, etc.
On the sending page, the process is reversed sends the customer to an electronic document either via email, website or, in the case of FAXAGE, an API method is also provided, the system converts to a format suitable for faxing fax default G3 or G4 TIFF and sends it via fax server. The status is then sent to the FAXAGE website and returned as default. Again, we can offer a great deal of flexibility around number of attempts, resolution to use, priority management, which users can send faxes in a given account, etc.
Basically, what you choose to do is switch all your faxing jobs over to the computer, the Internet and the email system. Simply insert your fax into the modern age of data. Just as youve modernized many other aspects of your business, you should also modernize your fax. Remember, you can still send and receive faxes through the old fax, but now you have the ability to use computers and the Internet.
Of course, online faxes must have many advantages or benefits, otherwise everyone would still be using the old fax. In other words, why have Internet faxes become so popular?
Mainly because Internet faxing you and your company is no longer tied to the fax at the office, you can send and receive your faxes anywhere, anytime. Online faxes are also cheaper because you do not need an extra fax phone line, no need to buy all paper, ink and toner as online faxing is paperless.
Internet fax is ideal for businesses because it is completely scalable for your growing business, you can quickly add more lines numbers without having to install all the necessary hardware as with the old way of faxing. It can also make your business more competitive, especially if you rely on faxing to enter new sales and or customers ... your business is open 24 7, 365 days a year.
Simply put, online fax works by utilizing all modern contractions in the workplace, primarily the computer, email system and the Internet. It uses all of these to provide fast, inexpensive, reliable faxing available at any time. What more can you ask for?
